Tony Murdock, Chairman of The Cambridge Roar and General Manager of Quy Mill Hotel & Spa, had a vision to stage a series of events in the community to raise funds and awareness for Charity. From this The Cambridge Roar was born and successfully launched in 2014. This unique brand is now a recognisable force with the potential to grow and raise further support for local and national charities.
Having fun is the best way to do something!
When that ‘something’ is supporting important local charity work in Cambridgeshire, then the more fun you have – the better it is for everyone!
The Cambridge Roar sets out to do both once again in 2015. Following on from last year’s inaugural success, this year is bigger and bolder in all its ambitions.
The Roar is a group of like-minded people in business who care about Cambridge and the surrounding area and want to support local charity work by creating entertaining activities to raise valuable cash.
During 3 weeks of summer, 18 fantastic events will make a noise – a Roar of Pride – about the work being done. Fine food, sports, music, dance and laughter all form part of the Roar in 2015. “There’s something for every member of the family”, explains Roar Chairman Tony Murdock.
“We want you to have fun while our mascot Roary counts the cash for The Prince’s Trust and Arthur Rank Hospice.”
Events include an adrenalin-fuelled boxing night, a Bollinger-fuelled dinner and a Disney-fuelled singing contest. Also in the mix there are slightly cheeky afternoon teas, continental markets and an outrageously lavish Grand Finale – Hollywood style.
Proceeds from the Cambridge Roar 2015 go to the Arthur Rank Hospice charity and the Prince’s Trust.
We look forward to welcoming you.
