White Collar Boxing
Friday 4th July
7pm
A fight night with a difference.
A glamorous black tie landmark event will kick off the week long Cambridge Roar. Promising an electric atmosphere fuelled with adrenaline, we will see White Collar Boxing come to Cambridge for the first time.
Originating in the legendary Gleason’s Gym in New York in 1988 the first contest was held between Dr Richard Novak an attorney and Dr David Lawrence who held a Phd in English Literature.
Some years later the inaugural White Collar Boxing event came to the UK seeing a team of city bankers inflicting corporate punishment on each other following only a 10 week training programme.
Contestants will exchange their usual ‘day time’ white collar and don shorts, skimpy vests and mouth guards as they ‘face off’ in the ring until the bitter end. Some black eyes in the office on Monday!
To raise those much needed funds for The Prince’s Trust, a celebrity auctioneer will conduct a live auction and other fun packed betting opportunities will round this heavyweight evening off in style.
